Paris Carnage: The Front Pages tell a Story of Horror

It’s not something that we like to do, but it is sad that we tend to do this more often these days: to display front pages of newspapers covering a terrorist act in which many innocent people die. People who were simply going about the business of their lives, having a good time on a Friday night at the end of a busy week.

This is the cover of the French weekly, Paris Match, which just hit the stands this Monday morning. Also a double page spread with a chilling photo of the young crowd at Le Bataclan Concert Hall before horror struck

Special 8-page edition in Germany

Philipp Ostrop of the German newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten tells me that their Sunday edition, which is digital only, was free. It included 8 pages about Paris attacks.

Paris became the center of a six coordinated terror attacks for which the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) claimed responsibility.

At least 127 people died and hundreds are wounded.

President François Hollande regarded the attacks as “an act of war” .

Pope Francis has said that this is part of the “piecemeal Third World War” to which he often refers.

I will continue to add more front pages from around the world covering this horrific event in Paris.

For now, we are all French, and I am sending my French friends and colleagues my thoughts and prayers.
