The WSJ introduces new editorial newsletter

Here is the latest entry into the newsletter’briefing space: The Wall Street Journal will now publish a newsletter that is specifically aimed at opinion and commentary.

It was a mail from Paul Gigot, Editor, Editorial Page and Vice President of The Wall Street Journal, who alerted me to the new product.

As morning newsletters go, this one is chockfull of opinion and commentary pieces.  The newsletter divides its contents by segments:

The newsletter is called Morning Editorial Report

The various categories include Commentary and Columnists:

Followed by Currents and Reviews

Also a highlight of podcasts

Competition for Time

I like that each item carries a short, but informative, summary of the piece promoted.  Like many newsletter readers, I use the content of the newsletter to get an overview of what is happening, but perhaps only turn to one or two pieces to read in full.  My only concern is that as more newsletters get into our inbox,  there is greater competition for our time.  The race is on for the newsletter with the greatest power of seduction.
