The Economist is 171 years old. It is one of my favorite weekly reads: erudite, elegant and informative—and with some of the most superbly written headlines an area in which it competes with Quartz head to head.
I am not surprised about the announcement that smart watch wearers will be able to listen to The Economist. At a glance journalism meets In Your Ear storytelling.
The Economist’s audio edition — which is read with a charming British accent, naturally — is already available on other devices.
I wonder if those top execs at The Economist have done some research of their own to realize that listening may be a more apt activity for engagement with news on a smart watch as opposed to reading.
Staying tuned!
