Getting inspiration from a 1960 cover of AutoVisie for a current cover
The idea came to designer Walter van Sloten quickly when his editor presented him with the topic for an upcoming edition of AutoVisie, a supplement of Holland's De Telegraaf.
The story was about a “very futuristic BMW concept car, as if it was time traveling. Think Back to the Future,” says Walter.
Combine that with the fact that it is AutoVisie's 60th year and the 100th birthday of BMW, an event for which the German automakers have designed this new car of the future. So, to Walter, it came naturally to dig into the past, to a 1960 cover of AutoVisie to create what you see here.
The concept has been well received since publication last week. Take a look. Sometimes the designer simply goes back to the future, indeed, to come up with a winning idea for today.
